For the week ending December 2nd, 1979: Murdoch pops in for a few shows, Freebirds & JYD move up the SPOT ratings chart & more!

Here's a look at the talent roster along with SPOT ratings and FEUD scores for the week.





  • Newcomers this week: Dick Murdoch (not quite a full-timer but here regularly, also working shows in St. Louis, Detroit and East Texas), Tom Price (believed to be a young Tom Prichard; may also have been working in Tri-State at the same time)
  • Leaving the territory: Hercules Ayala (I believe he went to Puerto Rico for a few months), Jerry Oates (not booked on any shows this week)

Amarillo 1966 - Introduction

Western States Sports, more commonly known as the Amarillo territory, operated out of western Texas. The most frequently run cities in 1966 (that I have data for) were:

Mondays - Abilene, TX
